Punjab Education Collective

In August 2019, Punjab Education Collective was thus formed with the objective of transforming the public education system of Punjab by identifying challenges faced by the stakeholders on the ground, co-creating solutions to address them and improving the education experience. This collective comprises of four organisations,Mantra4Change, Samarthya, Sanjhi Sikhiya and ShikshaLokam ,  in the education space working in tandem to impact 27 lakh students approximately across 19,000 government schools in Punjab. Aligning with the goals of the state’s flagship program ‘Padho Punjab Padhao Punjab’, the collective supports the department in strengthening the academic support structure through capacity building and data-backed strategies thereby directly impacting the teaching-learning process.

3 Student Learning

  • Co-created learning resources for students for the ‘Learn from Home’ campaign during the pandemic.
  • Streamlined online learning materials for the students through ‘Daily Schedules’.
4 Enable Dialogue

among state level

Decision makers:

  • Statewide 360-degree assessment of the dept., to discuss the identified areas of improvement and co-create an action plan for the School Education in the state, had a day-long discussion with Academicians and State Leadership of State education dept.

1 Academic leadership:

  • Weekly Meetings across all the levels to discuss the concepts & competencies being focused on that week with students, sharing best practices of teachers, school heads, and brainstorm on the challenges together to solve.

 

2 Community

engagement:

  • Awareness campaign before SMC elections, SMC elections happened, SMC booklet for teachers and SMC members including their roles and Responsibilities, ’1 student’ in every school became part of the SMC.
