In July 2018, PYLP launched its operations in the district of Fatehgarh Sahib (FGS), Punjab. With the support from the education department at the state as well as district level, we started our work. Before we began, we met several stakeholders at the district, cluster and school level. A cluster typically comprises of 10-15 schools in a particular district, and within a specific radius.

Sanjhi Sikhiya is a collective movement of young professionals working towards the mission to ensure that ‘All children in Punjab attain foundational capabilities in an enabling environment.’ This mission has led us to work closely with Punjab’s education department and partner with other organizations working towards the same cause. We set out on this path of bringing in systemic reforms in 2018 by enabling dialogues across stakeholders and forming learning communities. Our team also builds capacity of instructional leaders, ensures data-backed decision making and does policy & practice advocacy at the state level as a part of the Punjab Education Collective (PEC) to enable effective learning and governance across Punjab.
